After he is gone you can cry, scream and kick until you get it all out. Then go take a soaking bath and you will start feeling better. You can take satisfaction in the way his jaw dropped and the stunned look on his face when you agreed with him. This is not what he was expecting at all. Your ex boyfriend will be confused because he will have the feeling that somehow you had managed to dump him and make him feel rejected. To a man, the feeling of rejection is not easy to handle. His pride and his ego have been seriously mangled and he is wondering what hit him.
By telling you he needed a break your ex boyfriend was only wanting to put you on hold for a while and go out and have some fun. He thought he would do some dating and if he did not find anything interesting, you would still be waiting. Now, he finds that all he can think of is you. He does not want to date anyone else and the idea of having fun is impossible.
If you stay away from him and go on with your life, he will be the one that is sitting around waiting for you to call. But, do not call him or contact him in anyway. Soon your ex boyfriend will begin to yearn for your love and he will be contacting you. When he does, it could be the shortest break on record.
