Christmas Carols – The Beauty Of Christmas Eve

There may not be anyone in the world who doesn’t know about Christmas carols. As the name says, it is a carol that is presented during Christmas eves. It can be referred as a song or hymn that is sung in groups to praise the importance of Christmas day. The lyrics are based on the theme of Christmas. Christmas carols shares the story behind the Christmas celebration and also praises Jesus Christ.
Christmas carols are not a form of enjoyment that arrived recently. This has been practiced since many years, even many generations ago. This is also known as a singing along with dance. It doesn’t mean that the participants are dancing, they slightly move according to the rhythm. The carol consists of a Christmas father who is the main character in the group and many followers. They sing song, play instruments and dance along with the music.
There many popular Christmas carols in different tunes. Usually most of the songs follow a same basic music chord known as medieval chord pattern. As time pass by, people implement slight modification and changes in the basic notes and give birth to new carols that are pleasant and sweet to hear. Personent hodie, good king Wenceslas etc are some of the old musical compositions that have been used since years. They are very heart touching and popular that most of them are sung even now.
Earlier carols were not sung in churches, but now people sing them both at church and at homes during Christmas. Birth of Jesus is the main theme of most of the carols. However some other stories and themes that are related to Christmas are also sung. The carols are also known in the name Noels.
Irrespective of religion and caste, every one wait for the arrival of Christmas carol on the Christmas days. This realizes the significance of carols in everyone’s heart due to its pleasing music. The carol usually consists of children dressed as Christmas father, three kings etc, carrying a star pole along. They move on to from one house to another singing the joy of Christmas. The children who sing are known as start singers. Every people gift them money or chocolate for their song. This is usually given to church for charity purposes. Finally the carol says bye to the home wishing Christmas and New Year. They also say the blessing words.
The way of conducting carol differs from one place to another. Most of the country has its own way of carol singing and conducting them according to the living style of that location. The Christmas and carol are one among the different things that unites everyone in the world even for a moment. Besides carol, many games, parties and prayers are also conducted during Christmas evenings. Christmas days are also considered to be the festival of love and peace. It is a festival of happiness, song and lights. Let us wait for next Christmas, so as to sing the carols together.
