As of today, when searching for a job, one no longer looks at the advertisings. Previously, when going about searching for a job meant answering job ads, help wanted ads, or even those banner ads that proclaim "Job Hiring", nowadays the only way to find a job is through blood, sweat and tears, and these may still not work. This only shows that times are really tough. But then, have you ever considered the various social networks?
Social networks are an essential part of our lives these days, with a job or without one. Stars use these networks to reach out to their followers and vice versa while an ordinary individual use these sites to communicate with their friends everywhere in the world. Social networks are breaking the barriers of communications as topics about anything and everything are acceptable. Many industries are now using these networks to reach more customers, so why not looking for jobs.
If you're an FB friend or a Tweeter, you surely know how simple and convenient it is to communicate with your friends. There have already been so many who have found jobs by simply asking online if there's a job out there. By merely posting an entry on these sites, you can reach many friends and followers. If a friend knows of a particular job, a link can be easily sent to you or the requirements of the job through your email.
The only downside of looking for a job through social networks is that you'll publicize and everyone will know that you're looking for one. But isn't it what networking sites are for? To reach out to as many people as possible for all kinds of reason.
These days searching for a job is not easy. It can even be next to impossible. This is the way it is in nowadays of economic recession. It doesn't matter much how the job was found for as long as the job landed on your lap. If you are already a member of a social network or several, swallow that pride and post a question. Consider it like you are just posting a "Job Wanted" sign at your university bulletin board, the only difference is you have reached a thousand instead of a few hundreds.
