This air ambulance transport scenario Includes 3 students that have burns on them from an explosion. The medics treating them work in a C17 medical air transport aircraft. This sort of situation could happen in any place in the Pacific, which is why this team is here to train. This particular squad is part of the Joint Medical Air Transport team (JMAT). The main focus of the day is not neccessary medical training, many new trainess find this work environment very hard while noisey aircraft engines are at work. These new students find out an important lesson of operational on a loud noisy air ambulance. It gives them a little bit more of an opportunity to understand the stress of flight that can be multiple limits for the patients, they can be found when there on the ground, but when they're in flight many possible things can go wrong.
The trainess have to practice medical care on their mac patients, while the C17 was still in the air. As one student stats. "Feeling the sways & the movement while being on board gets me ready. It was very comparable to an actual real life sitution & how difficult it is for communication with your teamates and crew members. Get ready for trouble-shooting. It's a wonderful way to train for a real life scenario".
Training like this is especially important in the pacific theater. Where these doctors will often fly to remote locations & deal with an extensive variety of injuries. Hurricane... or what is called in the far east, a "tsunami" can affect those patients and the doctors can help by bringing care on board the air ambulance. This sort of training brings together all in the military. Including the air force, navy and army. As well as bringing in more students from other nations like Thailand & Australia.
