Stress is one unpleasant part of our daily lives. It can cause headaches, irritability, insomnia combined with other effects. There are many reasons for the buildup of stress. From a hostile work environment to sour relationships, there can be any constant worry bothering you. Some people get stressed merely because of termites attacking their furniture. However, this does not seem to be a valid reason for depression. You can easily work it out with suitable termite control methods or by seeking the assistance termite pest control services. Anyhow if you still feel stressed then try aroma therapy.

It really works wonders to reduce stress naturally from your life. Most aroma therapists have based their work on the fact that brain has the tendency to interpret smells faster than pain. The moment your nose detects smells, the signal is sent to the brain to identify the odor. The fragrance is then processed by the portion of brain that mainly controls mood and emotions.

In this context, essential oils are known to have calming effect on patients or other people going through depression. Whether the therapy is applied with or without massage, the anxiety levels are still lowered to a great extent. After an effective aroma therapy, an individual can easily be drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Aroma therapy not only reduces your mental pain, but also helps to improve your lifestyle. This technique is especially more effective in relieving stress from elderly people. Although it’s best to consult a professional aroma therapist, you can also get some soothing effect with the right tips. Here is how you can do it yourself:

• First and foremost, find a quite place to relax with no one around. Try to keep the environment calm by dimming the lights. Besides, the temperature of the place has to be kept comfortable for the therapy to get really effective.

• Take two tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pot. Then add different combination of essential oils. A small precaution is needed here. Your skin can have serious irritation if pure essential oils are applied without carrier oil. Some oils are naturally known to have a calming effect. Another option is to mix tablespoons of carrier oil with four drops of lavender and precisely two drops of ylang ylang.

• After mixing them thoroughly, start applying them to your temples, the base of your throat, and also the inner part of your wrist. These specific areas are chosen because the skin underlying them is thin. The heat of your body from these regions will allow the dispersal of the scent.

• When you inhale deeply, the scent follows. This allows the stress to leave your body the moment you exhale.

• One aspect worth noting is that various oils tend to effect people differently. So there is a need to go for the trial and error method before you find the combination that works best for you.

• Also, if you feel it is not working well, then an alternative is to pour the mixture directly in your bath water. With warm water, the aromas will get intense.
