Due to the present depressed economy, jobs are at a premium. The unemployed and underemployed are seeking every possible nook in the world of commerce to end their jobless state. Even though the opportunities are reduced, there still exist some out of the way avenues to at least earn a paycheck, and maybe even find a satisfying career hitherto undiscovered. Of course, finding one’s passion is still a rarity in the search for a lifelong career.

Many, many people have decided to set the bar higher in their career goals, but get mired in a ho hum job that pays the bills and nothing more. Think about it these people are heroes in a way. They hang on to the job by being responsible enough to show up on time everyday, put in an efficient day’s work and earn a paycheck that keeps them and maybe their family in food, clothes and shelter. They have yet to fulfill their dream, but they unselfishly keep everything going.

Jobs cannot be separated from anyone’s life, and presently even in the rough economy, there are oceans of options to choose from to earn a living wage. This leads us to the auto shipping industry. This industry has grown over the years to become a much utilized and profitable one with tons of opportunities for any one looking for a job, or just maybe, a career. Let’s review the industry and the job possibilities that lie within.

Beginning with entry level positions, the customer service representative is an extremely important one to the company. The manner is which they deal with customer issues can result in either the loss of that customer’s business or positive word of mouth advertising for the company. Yet another starter job is that of dispatcher. A critical position that controls the movement of shipping transactions to keep the traffic flowing smoothly and on time. At a somewhat higher level in the company’s organization chart is the broker, a middleman between the customer and company responsible for relationship management, conflict of interest resolution, new business development and the well being of both customer and company.

The auto shipping industry would be nothing without responsible employees at all levels. Chief among them may be the CDL drivers whose duty it is to get those mighty rigs down the road. Driving big rigs loaded with expensive, heavy automobiles is not for the fragile flower. It is a physical task involving diligence, alertness and accountability of those who undertake it. These drivers must be cognizant of current traffic laws, safety and road signage wherever they go. Truck mechanics with their certification earned after extensive schooling are essential to the driver’s safety and that of his cargo.

Arguably the highest degree of difficulty and accountability belongs to the shipping company’s chief operating officer the professional at the top whose company is under constant monitoring by regulators while he is ever watchful that his employees at all levels are living up to the standards that he has set for them and his company.

The auto shipping industry offers a valuable service to the consumer while handling abundant risk and monumental organizational demands. Those people who are employed and stay employed with the industry must be competent, motivated and energetic. They are justly rewarded for their services. Any job seeker would do well to look into the auto shipping industry for all it has to offer.
