Almost everybody thinks "it would be very nice to have a garden of my own" at some point in their lives. It's possible that one person will think about growing vegetables of his own. Another person may have his heart set on a luxurious rose garden. It doesn't matter what you want to grow or why you want to grow it; the important thing is finding the right tools to help you grow your garden. Just about everything you do in a garden can be done using your hands (and your own personal brute strength). With the right gardening tools you can save yourself quite a bit of time as well as prevent basic wear and tear on your body. Use these gardening tools to help you as you work in your garden.

Gardening gloves are something that every gardener should have whether you are a beginner or an expert. Gardening gloves help keep your hands healthy as you work with the various parts of your garden. Gloves protect your hands as you dig in the dirt-something that most gardeners find uniquely satisfying. Rose gardeners, for example, use gardening gloves to protect their hands from getting scratched up and stuck by thorns.

Gloves can also protect your hands when you work with compost, fertilizers or other substances that can leave residues on your hands. Gloves can also protect your hands against bugs you might encounter on your plants or in the dirt.

Another tool you will want is a kneeler or two. You are going to be spending a lot of your gardening time on your knees or crouching down. Garden kneelers can easily be made from big pieces of Styrofoam or similar materials that you can use to lean your knees on. You can also buy mats made especially for gardeners. Mats and kneelers are used to help ease the wear and tear on your knees that comes from gardening. They can also do a great deal to protect your clothing from the wear and tear that comes from gardening.

Hand trowels are very helpful. Quite a few newbie gardeners only use their hands when they need to move dirt from one place to another. As you get used to working in the garden you will find that you also get used to using the hand trowel. This tool protects your hands. Gardeners use trowels to maneuver the dirt surrounding the plants in the garden (without damaging the plants themselves) and to help speed up the weeding process. Hand trowels are versatile-they come in a bunch of different sizes and can be used on just about any plant in your garden. Gardening is something many people dream of doing at some point during their lives. When you plant your first garden you will probably want to buy all of the different gardening tools at the local nursery. You'll think every tool is a "must have." The best thing you can do as a new gardener is to buy a few simple tools that you know you will use no matter how big your garden will grow. After that you can purchase new tools as you find you need them. This is the best way to get the tools you need for your garden without depleting your bank account.
