Two drugs with the name topical immunomodulators (TIMs) have been approved by FDA for the cure of eczema at a moderate rate. To keep the skin from having a break out the topical creams that are recommended are Elidel and Protopic.But FDA has also warned that these creams may lead to cancer on March 10 2005. Again it has been suggested that the use of these creams can be dangerous to the patients.So it's advisable to use these creams for a short period in spite of their effective cure only if the other types of treatments have failed in adults and children above the age of 2.
These two medicines are known as (Protopic) and pimecrolimus (Elidel).
While one has to keep their skin as damp as possible one need not take more number of baths for this sake.Even sleep inductive drugs like antihistamine are recommended to treat eczema.Be sure to find out about the side effects of any of the drugs that are being used.
It is always better that prevention is better than cure, so look out for the initial outbreak to get cured. You should lead a hale and hearty life.
