After years of going to New York City, NASCAR moved its annual awards banquet for the Sprint Cup Series to Las Vegas starting with the 2009 season. Again this season, the banquet had a buzz in Las Vegas that never existed in New York. A perfect exemplar of this was the win lap up and down The Strip.
The success Lap started at Planet Hollywood and headed up to the Wynn before circling back to the Hard Rock Hotel. from the time of the drive down the Vegas strip, Kyle Busch and the rest of the Top-12 Sprint Cup drivers participated in an entertaining question and answer session called NASCAR After the Lap at the theater in the Hard Rock Hotel.
As for the banquet itself, Busch took to the stage for one besthe best entertaining speeches of the night. While disappointed on how the season ended, Busch still made sureveryone everyone know that he and the entire M&M's team had a lot to be proud of.
While things didn't end up liked we had hoped for our #18 M&M's Toyota, we still had a special annum that included three trips to victory lane and finishing off the weekend sweep at Bristol said Busch. A massive thanks to Dave Rogers and all the world on the 18 team for the effort you put in all day long and the sacrifices you and your family have made for us to be winning. To Coach and Pat, JD and Melissa, thanks for allowing i to be a part of your extended family. To all at Joe Gibbs Racing, i really appreciate everybody the persistent dedication for a lasting team goal to success races and contend for championships. Thanks for allowing i to be your driver and I'm always appreciative of your recommend.
Busch also used the opportunity to thank his JGR teammates while interjecting a bit of humor at the same time.
As everybody knows, we have such big teamwork at JGR, so lots so, that the 11 guys offered to take my car back to the shop after it made its way onto their lift gate after the All-Star race said Busch. Thanks for the lift guys. Seriously though, I've got some massive teammates to thankful for as well in Denny Hamlin (congrats), and Joey Logano.
While the 2010 season is presently behind us, the 2011 Sprint Cup season is right around the corner. The season kicks off Feb. 10-20 with the traditional Speedweeks at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The 53rd Daytona 500, the first point-paying race of the season, is scheduled for Feb. 20 and will be d his first live on FOX.
